CONTRASTS
The Poetics of the In-Between

Presented by MAISON NAVIE
April 1 — June 28, 2026
12:00 – 20:00 (Closed Monday)
Location: Maison Navie Pop-up Exhibition
14, Geumho-ro 3-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul

Seoul is a city of contrasts.
A temple courtyard hidden between high-rise buildings, a quiet alley behind neon lights, a fragment of sky framed by concrete.

The density of the city pulls us into the rhythm of others.

We are driven to move, to produce, and to keep up —and in that constant pressure, we gradually lose the rhythm of our own emotions.

At a certain moment, emptiness becomes unease.
Doing nothing begins to feel like fear.
There comes a point when we finally confront the fact that nothing remains, despite having run with all our strength.

Repetition no longer works, and escape no longer comforts —

HEOSA.

What remains is emptiness. Yet it is not disappearance, but a state from which something can begin again.

This exhibition proposes the void not as lack, but as a field of potential — a space that makes presence possible, and a starting point for the recovery of perception.

It explores the poetic coexistence between density and emptiness, inviting those who have been moving forward without pause to stop, to reflect, and to move again.

At the end of this journey, we encounter a moment of release — stepping out of the rhythm of others and returning to one that is entirely our own.

This Popup Exhibition space in Seoul — once a public bathhouse, then a church, and now an exhibition space — carries its own layered narrative.

The accumulation of time, and its unique vertical structure spanning from the basement to the third floor, together with its raw concrete materiality and spatial depth, embody the coexistence of density and void that CONTRASTS explores.

The exhibition unfolds along an emotional sequence:

Density → Void / HEOSA → Harmony → Return.

Media art, kinetic installations, sound, light, objects, and photography are organically interconnected, forming a single, immersive installation.

Within this flow, visitors experience the entire space as a continuous emotional structure.

The third-floor gallery & lifestyle space represents the final stage of the exhibition narrative — Return, a moment of reflection and transition back into everyday life.

Designed as an extension of the exhibition, this space brings together artworks, objects, and the Density and Void teas by POINT TWO FIVE·SECOND into a unified sensory layer, completed through the movement of the audience.

This is not an exhibition to simply observe.
It is a journey to move through — and to feel.
